I've been dabbling in some paint!

Okay, there comes a time when we have to change directions and try out something new. Well, I have always loved to paint. I'm no Pisacco or anything, just your average simple patterns that make a statement. Well, I was shopping at the Goodwill and found this wonderful oak table that screamed for me to paint it! Well I bought it and have been working on it for 2 weeks now.

Let me tell you where I got my inspiration for this wild and crazy table that is just about finished all except for some finishing touches. There is a wonderful woman named McKenzie Childs. Her worked is simply breath taking and I have always wanted some of her pottery and the many other items such as her furniture. However, as life would have it, the cost is soooo out of my price range. Therefor, I figured why not try to mimic her look by painting a table on my own and of course adding my own touch to the concept. Click the name above to see her work!
So here is a before and almost completed after picture of the table I bought!

I'm not done with the legs! Just needed to add some finishing touches! But this is what I have been up too! Let me know what you think!!!

What a perfect page!!!

Okay my friend Marie (you know the crochet guru), well she made some beautiful bookmarks. The other night while we were cropping at my house in my cramped little space of a room, LOL, she pulled out this adorable picture of herself when she was young. The time was Easter and she looked so cute. I know that we never seem to scrapbook ourselves, but she and I both agreed that she should scrapbook this pic of herself to save the memory.

Well, with her already blessed talent in crocheting, she decided to place one her bookmarks on her page and of course added finishing touches to the whole design element. The only thing I suggested was to use my Quickutz Tag die and she did! Here is a pic of her page I simply had to share with all of you!

As you can see along the right hand side she mingled several embellishments to bring about the memories she wanted stated while adding a heritage feel. If you look closer, you can see her handy work. The beautiful bookmark that she crocheted. To give it a more of a embellished look, she enlaced ribbon to bring more of the colors out!

I hope that you find inspiration to pull out your needle and thread if you are crochet savvy. One of these days I will learn but for now, I think I will place an order with Marie. Oh Marie? I have some things that I need. LOL

I thought it was going to miss me!!!!

Okay, I really thought that I was NOT going to get the flu. Yeah, I have allergies etc... Having to take allergy shots once a week, take my inhaler everyday!! Well, these past two days I began to feel worse than usual. I called and went to the doc and low and behold, I have the Flu! Now they say it is type A but they are treating it as any other flu. To say if it is H1N1 I don't know.

Send prayers my way that I get over this soon and DONT give it to my family!!

Oh, Here is my personal Pharmacy that I'm on!!

A Friend that can do it all!

I will be the first to tell you if I can do something or not. Crocheting is not my thing. I could not Crochet if my life depended on it. I can sew, scrapbook, even do my own nails ( yeah I'm a jack of SOME trades) but again I will admit when I can't do something.

Well enough about me, Marie one of my best Scrapbook buddies/friends has the talent to Crochet. She can make things from small flowers that we pay tons for to put on our scrapbook pages, to even crocheting the edges of her scrapbook pages!! Amazing I know!!! (I will get pics friday of the crocheted page).
Anyway, I wanted to share her talent with all of you. She is amazing in her detail and she can fly through these thing in a flash! She told me while waiting at the doctor, she had 1 and 1/2 of these "Book Marks" you see here completed. I'm like, your a human assembly line LOL!
These "Book Marks" are just a taste of what she can do and I can't wait to show you her crocheted lace, OMGosh is the only word at the moment I can think of!!

But enjoy and leave a comment of what you think of her work. I simply love it!
